Richard Griffiths & Co is a family run firm of solicitors with several offices based across Wiltshire and Hampshire in the UK. The firm prides itself on providing clients with a high quality professional service that is excellent value for money. They offer a full range of private client legal services and are one of the largest providers of legally aided services in the south west of England.
The firm had recently merged with Brook Oliver Solicitors, significantly increasing their range of practice areas and the target audience in the area.
Richard Griffiths & Co’s rapid expansion meant they needed to redevelop a website that would offer greater accessibility to their growing client base.
Their existing site could conservatively be described as outdated and unattractive with poor content management that failed to provide users with structured and detailed information of their services. And simple changes proved difficult and costly since they needed to be managed by their existing supplier.
Richard Griffiths & Co came to us to design and develop their website because of our reputation and expertise online.
Following careful review of the firm’s business and marketing objectives, we suggested a complete redevelopment of the website.
We wanted to produce a fresh, search engine friendly brochure site that presented users with information on all the firm’s services in a clear and easy to use way. Basically, it needed to look good while meeting the needs of their target audience.
To ensure this we needed to pay close attention to any potential issues surrounding usability, information architecture, accessibility and W3C compliance.
Structure was paramount. We decided to bring the firm’s key areas – services provided, office locations and fee earners – to the forefront of the site to guarantee greater usability.
We also recommended greater emphasis on the user’s call to action, since receiving contact for new business was the primary commercial objective of the website.
Finally, we implemented a new Content Management System (CMS) that allowed the firm’s management team to update key content on any page of the new website quickly and easily in their own time.
